My "Add/Remove Programs" window refuses to display
itself. Double-clicking the icon only results in a blank
white menu window, followed by the error message:

mshta.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x020827c4" referenced memory
at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "written".

I have no clue how the problem originated, nor do I know
what's the nature of the problem (corrupt file? conflict
with another application?). Thanks in advance to anyone
who may be able to help me. I'm hoping there's an easier
solution than resorting to formatting the HD and
reinstalling Win2K.

Try REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL

If that doesn't fix it, see tip 6032 and links in the 'Tips & Tricks' at
