Add/remove programs missing

I found that my add/remove programs tool is missing from the control panel.
I am not sure exactly when it happened but I think it was after SP2 was
installed.
 
search ur computer for the file named - appwiz
verify the extension of the file name, it should be .cpl and should be
in the following directory

c:\windows\system32\

or otherwise

Go to another computer with the same Operating system and search for
appwiz.cpl copy it onto a disk and inturn copy the same to ur computer

a lot of programs from the ADD-REMOVE PROGRAMS panel are missing and i dont
know why. can somebody help me with this?

I have the same problem. I followed the directions on that website to get to
the uninstall folder and I have one file in there. It is a REG_SZ type file
with a (value not set) for the Data column. I'm not sure where to go from
here. Thank you for your help.
