I've got a test account that's got domain admin rights. On certain systems,
when it logs in, it does not display add/remove programs in control panel.
The cpl starts fine if I run appwiz.cpl. It just won't display on the start
menu or when I exlpore to the control panel.
I assumed that it was a left over from a poorly made GPO that removed
add/remove programs from all users (including domain admins). However, when
I look at the registry, there are no entries in HKCU (or HKU) for the
setting under \software\microsoft\policies\ or
\software\microsoft\windows\current version\policies that should be
restricting it. In fact, for this user there is no "uninstall" key under
either.
So what could be causing this not to be displayed just for this one
administrative user? I realize I could just delete the profile to fix it,
but I'm curious.
