John

Upon opening the Add/Remove Programs applet, I receive the
following message:

An unexpected error occurred.

Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assigment
res://sp3res.dl/default.hta
Line: 84

I noticed that the end-user had apparently agreed to
download a spyware application offered by Gain Publishing,
and there were several Gator-related programs installed,
such as Date Manager and Precision Time.

I successfully installed all the Gator apps, but I still
receive this message. What should I do?

Thank you,

John

Hi

From the "Run" box try

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\appwiz.cpl

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\webvw.dll

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\mshtml.dll

If this doesn't help, in the German newsgroup, one person fixed the
same type of error by reinstalling IE

The article above also tells you how to repair Internet Explorer 6.0

See tip 6032 at http://www.jsiinc.com/reghack.htm as well

If this doesn't help, try to reinstall the OS service pack you already have
installed (or install a newer one if possible).

If the problem persists, you'll could do an in-place upgrade of the OS and see
