Add/Remove option missing

In bringing up the Control Panel Option - Add/Remove Programs I have
discovered that for most of the programs listed I no longer have the
Add/Change/Remove option... I am guessing that the uninstall files
have disappeared. If that is the case what is the best way to
manually remove programs ? Is there a program out there that will let
me do this with a minimum of fuss ??

This not good news as it indicate the system going Nuts and in self
destructive mode.
Make sure the system is clean from malware and viruses to eliminate them
from further troubleshooting steps.
Run this command:
sfc /scannow click [OK] and get your XP Installation media handy you may be
asked by the system to insert it at some stage to repair corrupt/damaged
files/folders found by the System file checker.
If the issue still not being resolved then a clean install is a must!.

Please read the help file to understand on how to use this tool to serve you
purpose more than just remove and clean anything found in the way.

One way : C:\ program files\Program to uninstall\look in files for
uninstall.exe
