add/remove hardware icon in task bar

If you have something plugged into a USB port you can't.
But, you can hide it.
Right click the Taskbar | Taskbar tab | Check: Hide
inactive icons | Apply | OK

Also.........
Right click the Taskbar | Taskbar tab | Customize button |
Highlight: Safely Remove Hardware | Set to Always Hide |
OK |Apply | OK
