Add reference not showing recently compiled project

I have a simple project with one class. I compiled after setting it to 'release', opened the project I wanted to add the reference to, but it does not appear in the .NET references . Why is this? I can browse to it, and select it that way... but this doesn't seem right to me.

Can anyone help?

That's OK. You don't need to worry about that.
