I am trying to add a print driver for a NT 4 computer on
a shared printer that is hosted on a XP Pro machine. I
have added the print driver to the server but when I try
to add it to the actual printer I get an error say it
cannot locate a suitable print driver. I have tried using
the driver that came with the printer as weill as
downloaded a driver from the HP download site. Even
though I have installed the driver on the server the NT
users that try to connect get the a message saying there
is not a suitable driver install. The printer in question
is a HP LaserJet 1300.

I assume the NT4 printer driver you're trying to add has a slightly
different name that the XP driver. The drivers are matched by name, so if
there is a difference, you'll get the "no suitable driver found" spiel.
Typically, the Windows inbox drivers and the print vendor's own drivers have
different names as they're generally not compatible as far as settings go.

So what you can do is take both the XP driver and the NT4 from HP.
Alternatively, you could open the INF of the NT4 driver and change the name
of the NT4 driver to match.
