Hello,

I decided to delete some programs off of my system that I hadn't used in a
long time to free up space.

However, when I opened the Add/Remove Programs window, and selected a
program to which I wanted to delete, there is no button there for me to
select to remove it. It is there for some programs, but not all.

Can anyone help me with this.

Use the scroll bar to scroll down and make this button visible.

Try reinstalling to the same location then go back to Control Panel|Add
Remove and try again.

Just a thought .... have you tried going to the folder where the program
is installed and see if there is an alternative uninstall there.

Or, run the program's setup.exe again - some setup programs do multiple
duty as setup-add/remove components-uninstall.

I did check that. The programs that I am trying to uninstall, don't have an
uninstall from the folder where the program is.

Actually, a couple of the programs I thought I had uninstalled. However,
once I completed the reboot, they were still there without the remove or
modify button available.

Thanks for the suggestion.

If you are positive that the program no longer exists, you can delete the
entry from the Add/Remove list:

1. Open Regedit
2. Open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall

Go thru the list (or use Edit | Find menu) and search for the entries. If
the entries do still exist, it will give you the path that it thinks the
program is still installed in. If that path is gone, then you have deleting
and you can safely delete the entire key until Uninstall.
