Add-ons blocked

I have been trying to download a pdf instruction manual
but the stupid Add-ons Manager that SP2 installed has
blocked/disabled the pdf Add-on.

When I try to enable it is greyed out and says 'This Add-
On is managed by your Administrator'

As I am the only user on this pc and have administrator I
should be able to re-enable this Add-on??

Can anyone help with this matter?

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

It's due to a Group Policy setting, especially if your system is in a Domain
(in that case, contact your Network admin). For stand-alone (or) Windows XP
Home Edition, open Registry Editor and delete the entry for Adobe Acrobat
plugin's CLSID in this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Ext\CLSID
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
{06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - AcroIEHlprObj Class
{CA8A9780-280D-11CF-A24D-444553540000} - Adobe Acrobat Control for ActiveX
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks Ramesh,

I am on Home XP and not on Domain,

I managed to get the manual emailed to me so i have got
round this problem.

Those HKEY's did not exist in my reg so could not delete
them, but i the main problem is that if windows decides
to block a Add-on i can not enable it as it wont let me
access it even tho i have Admin rights!

I guess its just another daft SP2 bug?

Thanks for your help

No, it's not a bug, but a policy setting. Have you tried checking the same
under HKLM hive?
