Add Network Place Wizard

Googled without finding a solution.

Just got a new machine at work and it's running Win XP Pro. I'm starting to
create all of my network places and found that the wizard first attempts to
"download information from the internet". Even with the great connection we
have here it takes a very noticeable amount of time to complete this and get
to the next screen where I can opt between "MSN Communities" and "Choose
another network location." I do not, and will not ever, want an MSN
Community. Is there any way to add a network place without having to go
through this internet search for MSN Communities? The wizard does not allow
me to add another after I finish one, I have to repeat the process from the
start.

Thanks in advance for any guidance

That's not the whole story, Thom and CapCity. If the network place is
on the local area network, not on the Internet, you can add it without
using the Add Network Place Wizard:

1. Open My Network Places.

2. Type the name of the computer that has the desired network place in
the Start | Run box, preceded by two backslash characters. For
example, if the computer's name is XPPro:

\\XPPro

Then click OK, which will open a new window showing network places
(shared disks and folders) on that computer.

3. Drag and drop a network place from that window into My Network
Places.

Thanks! It seems so simple now that I wonder why it didn't occur to me. Was
looking through the menus to see if I could bypass the wizard.
