Running internal DNS svr..w2k.
run's ok...am trying add the following type name
www.email.domain.com to point to my internal OWA server

I have an entry email.doamin.com pointed to the internal IP
works great.
But I can not figure out how I can add a resolve
with www in front

Note: I do have an entry pointing www to my external DNS
of www.domain.org

so internal request for www.domain.com go to www.domain.org
but a request for www.email.domian.com should go to
email.domain.com

thanks

You could probably just leave it as mail.domain.com. Normally we tell our
users to use:
http://mail.domain.com/exchange to get to the OWA.

If you want to create www.mail.domain.com, you can create a child zone under
domain.com called "mail" and under that, create a www record, giving it the
IP address of the mail server.

thanks Ill try the child domain...

I wish my users could understand it...
it started as just email.domain.com
but no matter how often I explained it or gave them
printed instructions they put WWW in front..

it's ok outside ..it's just when someone is inside

thanks again
