Add modem button disabled

With Windows Vista beta 2 build 5384, the Add button is disabled in the
Modems tab of Phone and Modem Options in the Control Panel. This has worked
correctly on earlier Vista CTPs, I believe. There is no internal modem on my
test system; I usually add an external modem and "Cable between two
computers".

Does anyone know why the Add button would be disabled?

Why not get an inexpensive ethernet switch, or
hub, and use you ethernet connection?

You can also probably use a NULL-MODEM
connection, either parallel or serial.

My Ethernet connection is fine. However, I need the modem and null modem
(the latter via the "Cable between two computers") to connect to devices that
only have serial interfaces, either remotely (modem) or locally (null modem).

Does anyone have any suggestions on why it is not possible to add a modem in
the Control Panel?

Any help appreciated.

I have the same problem, plus it don't aow me to install bluetooth modem from
