I've been reading these posts for about a week now and
see that I am not alone with the CD driver problems. I
have the same problem (as most of you) with my DVD, CD-R/W
and now with my A drive. Everything use to work when I
installed XP but now none of the drives work. I think
this also happened after I downloaded upgrades or
automatic upgrades. I looked at the system driver
information for these drives and it just has some
Microsoft generic drivers installed. That I did not do.
Now I can't even reinstall the original drivers with ether
the CDs that I have or cassettes.
I've done ALL of recommendations that were given to me
(including trying to download new drivers from the web)and
got nowhere. In my opinion XP has a serious problem.
Can someone from Microsoft please respond....
Frustraded,
