add link to start menu system area

does anyone know how to add a link (actully a
folder/menu) to this start menu, either in the special
folder or system area. Thanks

Right click on the start button and choose "Explore".

You will see that the Start menu is made up of folders that contain
shortcuts to documents & programs. Create whatever folders and shortcuts
you want in whatever area you want. Not sure what you mean by "special
folder or system area" though.
