Add-in Fax Extension not working Outlook 2007

Every time I go to create a new message I get "The
Add-In "FaxExtension" (C:\Windows\System32\fxsext32.dss)cannot be loaded
and has been disabled by Outlook". I cannot find this add-in when I go to
the trust center, so I am unable to enable or disable it, or remove it.

I have Vista Home Premium and I installed Office Standard 2007 from the
disk. I have tried to "repair" Office but that didn't help.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated -

Vista was a regular upgrade and Office 2007 was working correctly under XP
prior to the upgrade.

Find and rename outcmd.dat with Outlook closed.

Found and renamed the file (twice - new file is created when I test), no
change.

Edit the registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\ to disable the
add-in.

When I went to the registry the only add-iins that show up are "Aladdins",
"Microsoft.OMS", "Microsoft.VBA Addin for Outlook1", and "Search.Outlook
toolbar".

Just like going to the trust center there is no reference to "Fax-Extension".

Bummer. This appears to be a frequent problem for users who attempt in place
upgrades. I'm not a fan of in place upgrades. I haven't seen any other
solutions so far. Maybe someone else has.
Did you create a new Outlook profile after this upgrade?

Looks like I left out the other file you should rename in my first post.
Also find and rename extend.dat with Outlook closed.

Russ,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, we were gone for awhile, but I
followed your advice and tore everything down and did a clean install. No
more problem, thanks for your help.
