New HD:
I've added 4-5 new HD's over the last few years, all Maxtors. They come
with software to assist smooth installation. HD's must be partitioned
and formatted before use. Read instructions carefully, and search
install CD for readme, or any readable files to help installation. I
have also had good luck moving everything from old HD to new using Max
Blast. I strongly suggest adapting Carpenter's rule: "measure twice,
cut once." That is: "Read instructions twice, install once." All new
HD's come with install software, I am only familiar with Maxtor.

| Thanks for the advise. To elaborate on my second question -
|
| When you click on start/Programs, you get a whole list of
| programs, over fifty of them in my case. I was just
| wondering if there is a way whereby these programs will
| appear in an alphabetical order such as A as Accessories
| first and W as in Windows, etc. This should enable me to
| find a program much easier.
