Add content on screen during PPT show

I teach a writing workshop using PPT (2003). I'd like to be able to type copy
on a slide during a live presentation (not in the create screen, but in the
show). In the exercise, students would dictate a sentence that I would type
for display. Is that possible in PPT? If not in PPT, does anyone have any
other suggestions?

On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Control Toolbox. Choose
the Text Box option. Right click on the Text Box to edit properties (desire
type size, etc.)

Thanks Sandy. Now a follow-up question. I use a tool called Bullfighter
(http://fightthebull.com) that provides readability statistics for a copy
block. It's a toolbar in my Office applications. Is there a way that I can
run it on the text I've just added in the text box in the live PPT show?

If your sentence is "bull free" that's a good thing. 8>)

I contacted the Bulfighter author via email and he suggested a good
workaround. He said I could use the Alt+Tab key while in my show to pop up a
screen of open programs. If one is Word, it appears like a daughter screen
above the PPT. Since Bullfighter resides in the toolbar of my Word docs, I
can write whatever I want, run Bullfighter, get the score, then click back to
the PPT.

Hello Wiley,

My initial tests came up blank. Here are a couple of options:

Place a link to the Web site (specifically,
http://www.fightthebull.com/putinthering.asp) elsewhere on the slide. Copy
and paste your newly written content into the tester.

Contact the developers of Fight the Bull and see what they can do to help you.

PS. I tested the following statement and got a "bull free" grade: "At the
end of the day we will all be winners." What's wrong with my version? In my
book, that's a lot of bull. <G>.
