I am trying to add a user's outlook contacts to address list (to make it
first choice in list apart from global address list) by right clicking
contacts and going to properties and chooseing Outlook address book tab and
ticking "show this folder as an e-mail address book" but it is untickable. I
cannot find how to make it tickable?

That's the part that's weird. When I go to add contacts it's not available to
add. Although while in the user's Outlook there it is. On other PC's this is
not the case.

I don't understand what you're saying. You're not trying to add Contacts.
You need to add the Outlook Address Book Service to your profile. Tools >
Services...

Mike - did this help you as I have the same problem. When I click Tools
there is no "Services" menu. Did you find the solution?

In Mike's case, he probably doesn't have the Address Book Service installed.
The "Services" entry under "Tools" is only available for Outlook 98 and 2000
when running in Corporate/Workgroup mode. If you have any other version of
Outlook, the service is added from a different menu path; for Outlook 2003,
the path is 'Tools|E-mail Accounts|Add a new directory or address book'.
What version of Outlook do you have?
