I want to add a windows NT 4 driver for my HPlaserjet 6
printer into my windows XP machine to share with other NT
4 machines. No matter what disk I put in I get the same
message `the specified location does not contain
information about your hardware' even though it is the
location of the files supplied by the manufacturer and
they work. It sure would help if windows gave a clue as
to the file that it was looking for as there are several
trillion files in the world and only Microsoft know which
one it wants!!!

Try downloading the drivers for NT from the HP website. Click on the file
to expand it into a Temporary Folder. Even if it starts to automatically
install, don't worry, it won't get very far, it will just tell you that it's
the wrong O/S.

Once you have the extracted files and remember where you put them, then go
back into the Properties of the HP Laserjet and use the Add Drivers for the
other O/Ses... and point it to that folder you made with the NT files in it.
