Add a button to presentation

I see a way to add a button to the presentation that is linked to a macro,
but the only time it appears to run is if I'm viewing the presentation. I
actually want to be able to run it as the presentation is being developed.
Can I do that with a button or do I just need to have the user run the macro?

Thanks

Your best bet is just to have them run the macro (Alt-F8) because the
alternative is that you would have to create an add-in for them to install.

Well, I'm guessing you know how I feel about creating an add-in for more than
100 people to install. Thanks! I was hoping it would be similar to
Excel.

In almost all respects, VBA for PowerPoint is different from Excel. We
get a lot of complaints from Excel people.

And on alternate days they lay off so the Wordies can thump us.
