program upgrade to install automatically it wouldn't. They advised me
to "Please upgrade your copy using your notification information or
download a new copy from our mirrors". Not only that, but it opened
their home page in Internet Explorer again (my default browser is
Mozilla). That's the straw on the camel's back etc. A shame too, since
it *was* a nice program. I hope they can get their shit together at
some point.

I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. While I don't care about
all the MRU stuff they've added, I *do* appreciate the fact that they're
taking the lead in the fight against CoolWebSearch. With Merjin
abandoning CWShredder, that's worth some consideration.

P.S. ... The spell checker wants to correct "Corliss" ...
the suggested correction is "Cordless"
Join the club, the numbers are growing!
I did the same, and for much the same reasons, plus the large number of
false alerts.
I've reinstalled 6.181 though. That, apparently, will continue to be
updated for up to 90 days. There was an update today (13th) when I tried.
With luck, Lavasoft will get the message and sort out this mess in those 90
days.

Using 1.02 now without problems.
Good point, and I really do hate "CoolWebSearch", having had to remove
it from several friends' computers. Still, I'm going to wait until
things settle down before putting it back on my system.
Vs 1.01 ..... 1.02 .....1.03 .....

As a result, I downloaded Build 1.03, installed and ran that, and Bingo,
problems solved!
No more calling up IE,
and no false alerts. Well done Lavasoft for sorting
this so quickly.
