can anybody please tell me if it is possible to have a search form like a
search engine where it ignores the space

so i can search a b c OR c a b OR b a c ............and ignore the
white space

i posted this up yesterday and have had no replies ............ at least at
macromedia news they do answer your questions ..........but what can i
expect from microsoft apart from buggy software that lets the fbi access
anybodies computer anywhere,anytime .............

Could you explain what input the user would type, and what results
they should get? I.e. if the user types "abc" should they get all
three hits?

You could write some VBA code to trim out the spaces, and search on
the calculated field - but without knowing exactly what constitutes a
"hit" I'm not sure what to suggest.

Microsoft hosts these newsgroups, but the questions are answered by
volunteers (a few of these volunteers actually work for Microsoft but
they're answering newsgroup questions on their own time). Your
question is not very clearly phrased, and it's difficult in any case
since databases (Microsoft's and anybody elses') are designed to
search for what is actually in the field, not usually a transformation
of what is in the field; instant responses are perhaps a bit
unreasonable to expect!
