The correct Adaptaplug connector to use with the Sony EVI-D30/D31
cameras is Catalog No. 273-1707.
Its dimensions are OD 5.50mm, ID 3.3mm, Pin 0.9mm

The Sony EVI-D30/D31 Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera's nominal input voltage is
13.5 VDC at approximately 800 mA. The allowable DC voltage range of
these cameras is 12 VDC to 14 VDC.

The EVI-D30 comes with a United States standard 120 VAC power supply,
while the EVI-D31 comes with a European standard 220 VAC power supply.

To use the EVI-D31 in the United States, you must either have a 220 VAC
power outlet near the camera, or find an AC-to-DC adapter capable of
supplying the correct voltage and current to the camera.]

Ignore the above. I'm going to have to read about this some more.

I'm trying to figure out how to use the RadioShack Adaptaplugs with
Canon, HP, & Lexmark printers.

Today I'm focusing on an HP 694C printer.

Is the tip supposed to be positive or negative?

The center is negative.

Do the markings on the Adaptaplug Tip & Plug, reflect what's supposed to
be in the Center, or what?

One more thing that you forgot, the wall adapter should have the correct
voltage for the light.

If you get a 6V adapter and you have a 6V light, ... then the adapter
may put out considerably more than 6V, ... and the light may burn too
brightly and not last very long.

The usual wall adapter is a simple unregulated DC power supply.

The 6VDC at 300 mA rating, for example, means that it will put out 6VDC
at that current, ... but if you measure the voltage with no load on it,
it will measure considerably higher, maybe 9VDC.

So the output voltage depends on the load current.

If you get a 6VDC at 1000 mA (or 1A) adapter, and use it on a lamp that
draws only 300 mA at 6VDC, ... you may find that the actual voltage is
higher than 6V, maybe 8VDC or so.

The lamp may work okay, but be brighter than normal, and its life will
be shortened.

So electronic things are not always as simple as they might seem.

If your wall adapter has a switch to set it at a different voltage, ...
then the light might last longer when set at a lower voltage such as
4.5VDC.

Radio Shack says "We've got answers", but those are very often the wrong
answers, in my experience.

So far, the following info doesn't make sense, .... because the Canon
BJC 210 printer is listed on the unit (itself) as being -C+, positive
center, 13.5VDC, 1A, .... but Radio Shack lists it as being 9VDC, 3A,
negative tip.

???

If the adaptaplug is unregulated, then depending on the Amps drawn, ....
the output voltage would probably be higher than 9VDC, even when set on
9VDC.

This seems like a gamble. Unsafe.

So far, the following info doesn't make sense, .... because the Canon
BJC 210 printer is listed on the unit (itself) as being -C+, positive
center, 13.5VDC, 1A, .... but Radio Shack lists it as being 9VDC, 3A,
negative tip.

Somehow I would bet on Canon knowing better than Radio Shack what voltage a
Canon printer might need....

I like to find alternative, cheaper (thrifty, frugal) ways to do
things, ... but using the unregulated adaptaplug-type power-adapters,
might not be one of them.

It seems that you can immediately fry and/or easily shorten the
lifespan of your machine (electronic device), ... by using unregulated
adaptaplug adapters, like the 6-24VDC one at Radio Shack.

However, I'm still trying to determine, if there is any safe-ish sorta
way to use these adapters, ... what they could possibly be used for.

First I looked to read what you had posted about Canon adapters;
then I was going to reply to your comment about the HP 694C printer
-I have one of those, but you didn't seem to be asking any questions.
So far you have posted an assortment of information and comments
related not only to Canon adapters, so it still looks as if you are
talking to yourself :)

I guess what you would need is someone to asses the output of those
generic adapters.
