Hi, I have two lans in two seperate locations (Say Location A and B) which
is connected by a leased line. There is a DC in A, I would like my clients
in B to connect to the DC in A. How can I let my clients in B join in the
same Domain as A clients, as when the client B try to join the domain, it
would shows "the specific domain either doesn't not exit or cannot be
contact". Does that mean I need to tell to connect to the DNS in A first.
How can I solve the problem.

Thanks a lot

Yes. You need to be using a common DNS infrastructure for clients in B to
be able to know about any domains that may exist in B.

Hi Oli. Thanks very much for your reply.

I just got another question here. I would like to put a file from a PC in A
to a PC in B. as there are in different subnet. Therefore I cannot browse
the PCs in B from my network place, is there way I can achieve this.

Cheers

WINS would be the answer for NetBIOS resolution across subnets. Net
Neighborhood is NetBIOS based.

WINS, as Ace says. Alternatively, you should be able to connect by doing

Start | Run | \\machinename

or

Start | Run | \\ipaddress

depending on whether or not you have name resolution through DNS.

Ditto to Ace and Oli, use WINS if you want to browse to a machine on another
subnet in Network Places.
However, there is another choice, you already have DNS, it would be just as
easy to use the machines FQDN and resolve the machine through DNS. NetBIOS
and WINS are not needed if you use FQDN to connect to shares and machines
but for this the machines must be registered in DNS.
