Since my computer is running very slow, I scanned with Windows Defender,
which indicates no problem. I downloaded ad aware and stopzilla. Both
indicated several different spyware problems. Stopzilla seems good, but I
cannot delete adware it indicates--only quaranteen. Also, I am not sure
which one to buy or if it is necessary to purchase. It seems that having too
many of these will cause conflicts. Stopzilla, I believe has 15 day trial.
Any suggestions? Thanks for the help. --riley999

Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware both have free versions for personal home use. If
you use Spybot S&D, be sure to use the "immunize" feature.

You can clean your computer without spending any money. Windows Defender is
still in beta.

Go through these removal steps systematically. All tools suggested are free.

removal steps

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional computer repair
shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).
