This server has three partitions.
c:\ = System (Windows Installation Partition)
d:\ = Applications (Where many of the applications are
installed)
E:\ = Data (Where company data is deposited)

A user that is responsible for running Norton Ghost
accidently ghosted an older version of the partition that
c:\ resides on. When the server booted, none of the
client computers & users could log on. I am unable to
open AD Users and Computers. When I attempt to open AD
Users & Computers, I get the error "Naming information
cannot be located because: The target principal name is
incorrect"

Futhermore I recieve event ID: 1126 in the Directory
Services Event Log. It's content says "Unable to
establish connection with global catalog"

Check if NETLOGON Service has started and use Replication Monitor [replmon]
included in the Support Tools to check your replication if you have more
than one server.

Thank you Chris for your input. The Netlogon service is
started and this is the only server in the organization.

I'm also getting error 3034 in the system log for MRxSmb
that says "The redirector was unable to initialize
security context or query context attributes"

Chris,

If you look to the beginning of the thread you'll see the
description of the error message. I ended up running a
repair on the OS knowing that it may do as much bad as
good. After the repair I was able to open AD Users &
Computers, however, WINS & Exchange services would not
start.

At that point I decided to backup the Exchange databases
and all of the company data and load the server from
scratch. I will simply recreate the AD from scratch.
Lucky for me that this paticular server only served 7
users!!!

Thank you again for your suggestions!

Ethan
