Hi,

I have an AD network at the head office, and I would like to add a child
domain at a remote office. Currently they have a workgroup based setup with
a small server doing file sharing.

Does anyone have any recommendations of a good site where i can learn more
about how to go about setting up the AD on the remote server so that it
replicates with the AD in the main office ?

I'm thinking things like the DNS setup on the remote server so that it can
resolve the location of the AD on the main office subnet. Also how to setup
replication times etc

Thanks

Olly

Thanks. I'm afraid mine is not to reason why on this decision, only to do
etc etc

If we *had* to do it that way, with a GC at the remote office, is there a
good site with clear steps to help us through it ?

Yeah I know how this thing go :-). Anyway GC in remote office will help to
minimize WAN logon traffic, because clients contact GC during logon process.
For great source of information, you can read more info in Windows 2000
server Resource Kit at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/en-us/default.asp . It
is all in there ;-)
