Hi there,

we are planning our disaster recovery strategy and I got one problem:
We are making backups using Veritas Backup Excec over the network to a
backupserver. For the backups we´re using a dedicated account. If the Active
Directory Server goes down (assumed there´s only one) and have to be
restored, how can I use my backup because no domain/-controller for my
backupuser exists anymore?

Thank you!

First, don't assume that or even allow it to happen.

What methods do Veritas provide for Restore? That's the real question.

With some restore methods you might have to install a new copy of the
OS to use the restore procedures, with others (mostly commercial) you
can just "boot a CD" they give you.
