Hi,

I have once heard from Microsoft's partner that if the AD
failed (on the root domain) and it was not restored within
a specific time, all information in the Directory Services
will be lost and there is no other way to recover the AD.

Is this True?

Sounds like they're talking about Tombstone lifetime.

If you want/need to change the tombstone lifetime. It's located on the
enterprise-wide DS config object.
