Ray

I have a network setup with ~30 sites, its configured in a Hub and Spoke
fashion with the primary sites replicating from one site configured as the
hub and satelitte sites replicating off of my primary sites. I would like to
decrease the replication time between my primary sites and the Hub site and
leave the 15minute replication time to my satelitte offices as is.
I was told that I could change the "Options" Attribute on the site liks
between my primary and hub site to enable faster replication times between
my primary sites and the hub. Setting this to "1" would enable replication
to be similar to Intra-Site replication utilizing change notification. Does
anyone have any documentation on this setting and is there any side-effects
which I sould be aware of?

Thanks in advance,
Ray

Hi Ray

Yep you can modify the options attribute, details of how to do this can be
found in the Windows 2000 Resource Kit - Distributed Systems Guide......
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tr...v/reskit/distsys/part1/dsgch06.asp?frame=true
(Scroll to the bottom for the section on Change Notification.)

Setting this setting will mean that all replication to the sites across the
site links on which this option has been enabled will not follow the defined
schedule on the Site link.

The branch office deployment guide may also be a good bed time read for you
it has some good stuff regarding optimising replication in a branch office
hub spoke environment.
