Hi
I'm facing some issues with replication:
Setup : 1DC 2ADC on win2k 1adc not able to replicate with other ADC giving
error 1184 1185 in the eventlogs and giving problem with the database. The bad
DC is also holding INfrastructure Owner Role and has DNS DHCP..One more thing
when i'm running Best Practices analyzer on the Exchange server exchange not
able to locate the RID Infrastructure holders...Can anyone help to get rid of
this issueor have to rebuilt the DC.
If DC has to be rebuilt what are the things that has to be taken care before
and after

Can anyone help me on this...

Hi,

You mention that you are going to rebuild this machine. Are you getting
any errors stating the jet database is corrupt or anything in that
lines?
This could strictly be a replication issue or a DNS issue.
I see you say it is giving you an error about the database but does it
state what?
I really do not understand your set up from what you have written.
Do you have Exchange running on this DC? tsk, tsk
Please give me some more information about your environment...how many
DC's where is DNS pointed etc.

Can u suggest something want to avoid rebuild as any user account on the bad
ADC is not replicated ato any other domain..

Hi,

Here is what I would do, make sure the Domain controllers AND exchange
server are pointed to the same DNS server for primary DNS
On the domain controllers from sites and services delete all connection
objects between the two domain controllers.
On both DC's run the following command from the command line
ipconfig /flushdns & ipconfig /registerdns & net stop netlogon & net
start netlogon & net stop ntfrs & net start ntfrs
On exchange server run ipconfig /flushdns & ipconfig /registerdns.

Wait for the KCC to create the connection objects again and look for
anymore errors.
If so please post dcdiag /v here from the Domain Controllers.
One more question....was there a domain controller in the environment
before which is not around anymore?
