I have a problem starting Active Directory Users and Computers.
I receive the following error:

The target principal name is incorrect

I think the problem started when someone joined a laptop to the
domain. This laptop had the same Computername as the server.
The name is changed but the problem is still there.

Any ideas,

Hello,

Please take a look at the following:

288167 Error Message "Target Principal Name is Incorrect" When Manually
http://kb/article.asp?id=Q288167

This can also be caused by an incorrect registry value.
HKLM\Security\Policies\PolAcDmN was set to the computer name instead of the
domain
name. (You can identify this by highlighting the "No Name" value and
choosing
"display binary data" from the "View" menu.)

To correct this problem confirm that the value in
HKLM\Security\Policies\PolPrDmN
is set to the Domain.
Then copy that value and paste it into HKLM\Security\Policies\PolAcDmN
