Hi Everyone,

A colleague and I are currently debating an Active Directory feature viz
intersite replication, till now, neither of us had been able to find any
clear explanation to this and we were wondering if anyone of you would be
able to shed some light on the topic. Our question is as follows:

Are intersite replication partners automatically generated by the KCC or is
it only intrasite replication partners that are generated automatically?

Many thanks

By default the KCC is enabled within each site and between sites
The KCC on each DC generates its own INTRA-SITE replication topology
The ISTG (Intersite Topology Generator, a process of the KCC) is the
DC within a site (for each site see the NTDS Site Settings object to
see who is holding the ISTG role) that generates INTER-SITE
replication topology.
