Dear all, I need advice on creating zones. If I have a DC
with DNS & AD installed and configured with acme.com as
the forward lookup AD-integrated primary zone. Can I
installed DNS service in another DC and configured the
same acme.com as the forward lookup AD-integrated primary
zone? The purpose of installing DNS in another DC is to
backup the primary DNS server.

Appreciate if anyone could give me some advice. Million
thx!!!

Best regards,

Technically it's not an AD Integrated "Primary" DNS zone, just
AD-integrated DNS but yes it plays the same role as a traditional
primary DNS server.

Yes, you can install DNS on other DCs of the Domain and configure
additional AD-Integrated servers for that same zone - this is one of
the main features of AD-Integrated servers.

You get multi-mastering and some significant security features.

Million Thx for Danny & Herb,

You've cleared my mind that in a W2k domain, I can
installed DNS in more than 1 DC. Then make the same zone
for all these DCs AD-integrated. By doing this, can I say
that this is a way of providing failover against any DNS
server offline situation? Are there any document that I
can read about this? Appreciate if you could advise!

Warmest regards,
Cheuk Man
