When I go to Amazons page the it just hangs fo a minute and the
advertisement on the right hand side will not load and I get a page
can not be displayed message, athe the bottom I can see that it is
trying to connect to ad.doubleclick. When I hit the back button I get
this res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm and have to
hit back several times to get to the page. This happens on other
sites, I have Run Norton, Stinger, Adware and Spybot but nothing shows
up. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening.

Thanks
Dave

That's default behavior when you're running with a custom hosts file, put in
place by you or an anti-spyware application.

I think your Norton is blocking the ad.doubleclick from access.
1... Try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

Then Try this:
Open a Run Command and type in these DLL to reregister and see if that will
help:
regsvr32 Dssenh.dll
regsvr32 Rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 Gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 Slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 Mssip32.dll
regsvr32 Cryptdlg.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll
regsvr32 Sccbase.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 Wintrust.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Jscript.dll
netsh winsock reset

You may have winsock corrupt or damaged so download this winsock fixer:
http://www.nasstec.co.uk/tools.html
Double click it to run it and Reboot your machine and see if you will be
able to access the Internet with either IE or Fox.
After finishing Reboot your machine and try to log in on that site.

Open a run command and type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew clcik [OK]
Run Disk CleanUp and Defrag In Safe Mode.
HTH.
Let us know.
