I have 2 networks connected to each other via a SonicWall VPN connection
over a T1 line.
I (believe I have!) set them up to trust each other.
Shouldn't I be able to browse from one network to the other?

The short answer is no. Trusts have absolutely nothing to do with the
ability to browse between networks. What you'll need, now that the trust
is in place and you have verified that you can add users in one domain
to global groups in the other, is WINS. Each domain should be set up to
use WINS, and each domain's WINS servers should be configured as
replication partners to at least one WINS server in the other domain. If
you are handing out IP addresses using your Windows DHCP server (or even
a lot of other DHCP servers), you can just specify the WINS server in
the scope options of each. You'll still have to manually add the setting
to statically assigned servers, etc. If you're not using DHCP, you'll
have to configure them all manually - might be a good time to get DHCP
going.
