I'm working off of the xp-pro platform and downloaded the Ad-Aware 6.0
freeware with which I scan my system twice daily after checking for new
updates. Recently I did so inadvertenly before going online and the
software still responded with
"connecting to lavasoft"
"web update complete"
which is strange since I was offline at the time. My configuration was to
use the http proxy 127.0.0.1 through port 8080. When I unchecked the proxy
connection option, the system response is innevitably "no update components
available." Needless to say, the software scan reports zero findings of
scumware or any other malware. Can this be correct or am I simply scanning
my system using out-of-date definitions of the software. Help please!
Thanks.
