I would suspect that the reason why MS Anti spyware is
only Beta so not a lot of people trust in it, and since it
runs from the community system, it requires people to
share information which I can't see a great deal of people
wanting to do. The fact that Microsoft have visions of
making the Anti-Spyware a paid service doesn't fill me
with confidence when there are packages like Adaware and
Spybot Search And Destroy which are far more experienced
in the removal of spyware and adware. Perhaps we just need
to see how MS anti spyware develops to see if it is
successful or not before we start thinking about
subscribing to it, I mean it's no good paying for a
service when freeware does a better job of the same thing.
One thing I find frustrating about MS antispyware is the
fact that it detects programs like TightVNC and RealVNC as
Spyware when the obviously aren't, and have very
legitimate uses, where at least Adaware and Spybot don't.
