Having *found* a link for the Pro version I've noticed several settings that the
personal version doesn't have, disable splash screen, check all results etc..

Could the free version be labelled as crippleware?

They are two differnt products. The free version is fully
functional. Not crippled.

I have had ad-aware 6.0 for sometime. Seems to work.

However.

I got ccleaner from here a few weeks ago and like it better. It finds 10
times as much junk and does it in one or two seconds. Run ad-aware after
ccleaner and ad-aware won't find anything even though it takes minutes and
not seconds to grind its way through.

It's fully functional in most respects, but although it (the free version)
claims to detect ADS, it provably doesn't here, and hasn't done so since it
first showed this feature as available.

I don't know whether it fails because it /is/ the free version, but the
Help file certainly gives the impression that it should work.

Not a big problem here, I have another tool for this, just a small niggle
about an excellent and useful application.

Cheers,

Roy

CCleaner doesn't delete any spyware/adware/malware.

I was unaware of that. I do know that I have run ad-aware several times
after running ccleaner and it never found anything. Maybe I'm not getting
any spyware/adware/malware for either of them to find? Goody.

Afaik, CCleaner is mainly dedicated to :
- remove obsolete entries of the registry
- remove obsolete system files
- temp files
- cookies, browser cache pages
- MRU lists
