so you are assuming that everyone is using Ad-Aware?
hmmmm...........

Many posters have been abusing this newsgroup
This newgroup is actually for MS to announce either new versions of the beta
or related news and not for users to announce their posts. Users should use
the rest of the ngs.

It is a pity that MS did not restrict read only for this ng

I believe that most of them are so smart and MS also
recommend this program !

We now have 118 million downloads for Adaware............

Abuse ?, to help users to get rid of ALL junk ?

MSAS, Lavasoft Adaware and Ccleaner are a perfect
combination for most users.

A few users then need a forum for about:blank and some newer
vairants.

This sounds like some sort of "islamic
fundamentalism"..........! ;(

apparently you must be a newbie, judging from you response

MS also recommend this program ! ?
read between the lines
recommending and supporting the application are two different things

Abuse? This newsgroup is meant for MS to announce news related to MSAS and
not for posters to announce news

This sounds like some sort of "islamic fundamentalism" ? Don't bring
religion to this ng, you punk or plun!!!

As an ex-tester of MS's software, I know the rules more than you do

Well if you havn´t figured it out this is a balance between
users need
of a working browser (IE) and MSAS.

Beta1 is running on "overtime", MS knows what they must
change and
therefore its important that users can clean their machines
easiest way.

We can leave them and say start using Firefox instead.

To only advice users to run MSAS in safe mode twice is
really bad when we all
know that a _combination_ of programs solves most infections.

Interresting statistics from Aumha.org.

I tried my best but I still can't follow your line of argument;

What is betaware? I suppose it is software that is currently being tested
and there are no fixed datelines to release it to the users
Releasing a betaware with bugs is a no no

use whichever browser you feel comfortable, after all the computer's yours

To only advice users to run MSAS in safe mode twice

Who actually make the recommendation? MS or just computer enders ?
I'm sure that I didn't

Interresting statistics from Aumha.org. ?

What's so interesting about it? It's just a website in WWW.

If I know that a bug is not susceptable to Microsoft Antispyware (regardless
of the mode!) then I'll recommend another solution, if I know of one that
appears to be effective and suitable to the skill level of the user
involved.

I'll admit to making the recommendation you cite a great many times. I
believe it is entirely appropriate in situations where Microsoft Antispyware
properly identifies the threat involved. Clearly this is something that
Microsoft Antispyware knows about and has a script for cleaning, but hasn't
succeeded in cleaning.

It is too bad that the level of continuing interaction we have hear is
fairly low--so it's hard to get good feedback about the effectiveness of the
advice--I've had enough about the general "safe mode" recommendation though
that I feel comfortable with it. And I've had recent experience with
running twice (though not in safe mode)--that tells me this is also a useful
recommendation.
