Let me ask you all some thing i have a domain setup, would
a hub interfer with logon and logoffs since it run 10 half
duplex and my server is 100 full duplex,i really dont have
to many more problems, everything seems to be DNS when it
comes to problems. But wanted to see if there was anything
that this could affect im thinking not,but let me
know...thanks

I am confused. Do you have a server with a NIC that is
set to 100Mbps Full Duplex connected to a Hub that is set
to run at 10Mbps Half Duplex?

If so then you shouldn't be getting any connectivity to
the server at all.

If you have the server connected to a 100Mbps device,
hopefully a switch. Your clients are connected to a 10Mbps
hub. Then the Hub is homerun to the switch that the
server is connected to. I would get rid of the hub as
soon as you can afford to. In the meantime ensure that
the link between the Hub and the switch is set the same on
both ends. Either 10Mbps Half Duplex or 100Mpbs Full
Duplex on both the switch and the hub.

All devices on the hub are sharing the link and collisions
can occur. This will affect network connectivity.

ok...i have a router (switch/firewall) and server directly
connected ,and my clients are on a hub connected to the
router,My router auto detects the duplex. if you know what
i mean, server has two lights on the router, the connection
with the hub has one. so, yea a switch would be better, but
this is really a test setup, only 2 pc are on the hub, think
there is still collisions there,probably.

Hey thanks ,you have been really helpfull with all my
questions...!!!!!!!

With only two PCs on the hub the collisions should be
minimal.

I have found that devices that claim they auto detect
settings often don't autodetect fast enough to do the job
properly. Can you force the router port that the hub is
attached to do 10Mbps Half Duplex?

Do the clients ever acheive logon or do they never?
What is the router? Cisco, Lynksis?

i use a netgear fvs318, it seems pretty nice but its no
IOS (cisco) where i can make the Interface do what i want
it to do.

I can login but i notice some delays every now an again
logging on and off, maybe im just expecting to much out of
what i got.
