An ex-admin configured Win2003 server DNS as "not active directory
integrated". DNS is not a DC.

Can I configure "allow only secure dynamic updates" in that situation ?

1. You can always change your zone to AD integrated
2. "Only Secure Updates" are available only on AD integrated zones.

Hi Matjaz. The poster said that the DNS server was not a DC. I guess
he'd have to move the DNS to a DC to do that and then change the
original DNS to a secondary? I'm not sure how he would do that. as the
first DNS would presumably be the primary?

Cheers,

Cliff

I missed that part :-) sorry. Yes AD integration is available only if DNS is
on AD. He would have to change DNS structure to get secure updates. As in
DNS records are changed only on primary DNS server it would be enough to
move primary DNS server to AD server and leave secondary as they are or
create new secondary DNS servers.
