Can AD work with only a BIND DDNS? or does it strictly need a windows
integrated DNS?

Thanx

We are using it on BIND and it works pretty well. Depending on what version
of BIND you are using and how it is configured you may or may not be able to
use dynamic DNS updating. If you can't, just set a group policy for your
domain to disable automatic updates; then make sure you list all servers as A
records in BIND. You will probibly also want to install WINS so you can
resolve client IP addresses without dynamic DNS.

AD can work with a reasonably modern version of probably any
DNS software, so long as it supports SRV records and a
couple of other things. Here's what looks like an
interesting article (Warning: I've only skimmed it!) Watch
the wrap!

AD can also work with non-integrated Windows 2000 DNS, but
will not work with NT4 DNS which doesn't support SRV records.

Cheers,

Cliff
