Hello,

How to add AD admin tools, Users and Computers, Domains and Trusts and Sites
and Services, to a Win XP sp2 workstation MMC? Do I need to register some
DLL's because I can't see these tools when I try to add new snap-in
conmponent. What to register?

Thanks
-Will

William,

There are a couple of ways to accomplish what you are trying to do.

1) Install the Adminpak on the workstation. You can either install the
entire 'set' or you can install just those that you want.
2) use VNC or pcAnywhere or something like this
3) use RDP ( as Hank suggested )

I would suggest that you do as much admin-type activity from a
workstation.....so installing the Adminpak would be the way to go.

Use the Win2003 AdminPak.msi for XP machines.

Pretty sure you can download it from MS.

Herb,

I should have been more complete. I was simply suggesting that you can
install the Adminpak.....which is the clear part of my text. What I did not
convey very well is that you can install the entire thing or that you can
install certain MMCs.....

I wasn't criticizing you -- it was only that he may
have tried the tools but failed with using the Win2000
version.

Many times that is what is beneath the "admin tools on
XP" question.
