Activities tab on Public folder contacts

Have Exch2000 with Outlook 2000. I have used the properties to turn on the
activities of a contacts public folder. However nothing happens when I go
to use the Public folder by opening a contact with an email account and
selecting the activities tab. It works on my own email contacts but not the
Public folder

What have I missed. I selected folder properties & activities tab then new
and picked the public folder from the list. Is this not correct. Having
trouble finding anything on the net to explain how to do this.

The Activities tab shows items related to the current contact, items that are stored in the folder covered by particular activities group. So, the questions are:

1) What folder does the displayed activities group include?

2) Are there any items in that folder related to the current contact?

This is a public folder with variuous contacts that are shared by staff.
When setting the activities tab of the folder under properties I selected the
new button and added my inbox. This allows me to open the contact and select
the Activities tab then it searches for mail from that contact in my inbox.

However it is a shared folder and others want to do the same. Can I assign
more than 1 inbox to the activities of a public folder.

Each person would have to set up an acttivities group pointing at their own Inbox, which means they'd all need Owner access to the public folder.
