i need some kind of web filtering software that can block activeX,
scripts and so on on a per site basis. like something that pops up a
dialog asking me if i want to allow activex to run on this site, and
will remember that site when i visit next time. i know outpost
firewall does this just the way i want it, but ive moved to a
different firewall, and need something to help me with this. any ideas
? as far as i know proxomitron and webwasher cant do this

Depending on how technical you are, Privoxy, http://www.privoxy.org/
will allow you to customize your own filters. I've been using for a week
or so now, and although it can get very involved, it is also very
configurable. Whatever you might want filtered, you can create your own
filter for it and apply as needed.
