ActiveSync 3.8 hangs on Inbox when used with Office 2003

I am running Windows XP SP2 with Office 2003 and ActiveSync 3.8 and when I
try to sync the sync stops when it gets to the Inbox. I have also tried to
delete the partnership and recreate it but the problem persists. I have even
tried using an older version of ActiveSync, 3.7.1, and I have the same
problem.
 
Are you using a pst-file? Use scanpst.exe to check it for errors and then
try synching again.

I removed the pst from the profile and it still failed. I then determined
that it was a corrupt ost file.

Which basically is a pst for Exchange mailboxes. Never forget to post your
Account type used in Outlook! ;-)
