I've been trying to download some templates from the Window Vista web site
and I keep getting the
message that either I don't have Office 2003 (which I do) or that I don't
have Active X.

I've gone to different web sites and each has something for me to download,
but I don't want
to download the wrong thing. I seem to remember months ago trying to do
something with
Active X, but the little blurb at the top of my screen flashed so fast I
couldn't read what
it said.

Do I need Active X ?

Maybe you disabled some ActiveX controls in InternetExplorer
(Tools--.manageAddons) which self-identify your Office to the server which
then refusaes to download files to you as it thinks you don't even have
Office. Maybe you also disabled OfficeEngine in Services (run
"services.msc"). Maybe you could download those templates as standalone
file(s) instead of relying on self-identification "conveneice"

BUT MY REAL QUESTION TO YOU IS WHY ARE YOU POSTING IT ONTO VISTA FORUM? I
thought your question belongs to MS Office Forum, however it's fine, you
might get extra help here besides that Forum. Wait for more responses....

I could ask you the same question. Why are you posting in the Vista Forum?

My question to you is why instead of helping customers, you elected to troll
in my trail?

F U and everything you stand for.
End of conversation, if I see your style again, regardless of your fake name
[ U N T, I won't bother responding anymore.

You're in need of psychiatric evaluation
