Please some advice on what settings to use for the Active-
x settings under Security>Internet Options>Custom. I've
read that for increased security Active-x can be
disabled, but then read elsewhere that having it disabled
might affect different websites' performance. I have
WinXP. Also, what are the default settings for the 5
individual Active-x settings? Thanks very much!

"Arnold"- thanks for that link, very helpful! -b smile

I am not sure but that link did not really help me with respect to the
original question. Seems to me that the site allows me to check
whether active X is configured "properly" in IE, meaning active X is
enabled.

Coming back to the original question, I would rather know what I will
miss out on if I disable active x (which programs or functions) and
preferably which settings I should choose to be safe.
